Fit owners The owners of this local fitness studio have raised more than $100,000 for the fight against breast cancer in the past 7 years that they have owned ABSolutely Fit Together with their amazing members and staff they raise money through fundraisers, Exercise-a-thons and their annual softball game. Wendy and Susan began working with the Hewlett house because it is so important to know exactly were our donations are going and that we are making a difference on Long Island where the rate has gone from 1 in 9 to 1 in 5 women being affected. The incredible group of women that run this local house with President Geri Barish are true angels that are here for a purpose of helping others. Each of them is special in their own way “There isn’t a day that someone isn’t touched at the studio by breast cancer and that is why it is such an important cause for us” says Sachs On Saturday October 20th the studio held their 6th annual exercise-a-thon, where members had the chance to challenge themselves for hours exercising for the cause. The bake sale by Merrick Avenue students Hannah Schonfeld, Maria Reyes, Kacie Spielman and Limor Ben Tovim was a huge hit too ABSolutely Fit is our vehicle for making a difference in the world. “We are truly blessed to be a part of this amazing organization and the induction to the hall of fame was a true honor” says Schonfeld For information on the Hewlett house and their support groups and all their resources visit them at 1in9.org |

| On Sunday June 18th ABSolutely Fit, Fitness Studio in Bellmore hosted the first ever 1 in 9 Breast Cancer Charity Softball game. ABSolutely Fit owners Wendy Schonfeld and Susan Sachs, along with many of their members played against each other to raise money for Breast Cancer research and for the amazing 1 in 9 organization. They raised approximately $4000 for this event. 1 in 9 is a non-profit organization on in Hewlett which helps families coping with Breast Cancer, providing free prosthetics, wigs and bras as well as support groups and many resources. To date ABSolutely Fit has raised over $80,000 fundraising
for Breast Cancer
